8 October business gifting opportunities

From celebratory weeks to Halloween, October is packed with business gifting opportunities. Don’t wait until the holidays to let your team, customers, and prospects know how appreciated they are. Keep reading to gain eight ideas on when to time your gifts this month.

1. National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Breast cancer is the second most popular cancer in women behind skin cancers. One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Because it’s so prevalent, I’m sure many of you, like many of us, know someone or have personally been impacted by breast cancer. This is why we’ve added two nonprofits to our platform as options for charitable contributions in October.

The first is The Breasties, which has built a community for those diagnosed with cancer, survivors, and caregivers. Their initiatives include hosting free events to cultivate connection, supply trusted resources and fund research for metastatic breast cancer.

The second is METAvivor, which is dedicated to funding research for men and women fighting stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. While 30% of patients will metastasize, only 2-5% of research funding is dedicated to metastatic breast cancer, which is where METAvivor comes in.

2. Customer Service Week: October 3-7, 2022

Are you one of the thousands of companies that celebrate Customer Service Week in October? This week is all about recognizing those that work closely with your customers to help solve problems, right any perceived wrongs, and keep them engaged with your brand. Showcase your gratitude for each of your customer service team members with a gift of their choice from our marketplace. That way you’ll know they’ll use the gift they select and they’ll feel recognized for their contributions at work.

3. Pharmacy Week: October 16-22, 2022

October is American Pharmacist Month and the third week is celebrated as Pharmacy Week. Just like several other professional holidays, this week is focused on celebrating the pharmacists and technicians that help deliver patient care, whether in hospitals, outpatient clinics or other healthcare settings. After an especially challenging couple of years, this week is a good opportunity to recognize the dedication of the pharmacists you work with.

4. School Bus Drivers Appreciation Week: October 17-21, 2022

Last year, 81% of school districts reported a shortage of school bus drivers. Use this opportunity to celebrate those that are dedicated to transporting kids to school and activities on time and safely. A little gratitude can go a long way, and who knows, it could help your district retain school bus drivers when there aren’t enough to begin with.

5. National Custodian Day: October 2, 2022

Custodians are some of the hardest working and least recognized people. From schools and libraries to athletic centers and office buildings, custodians help keep their facilities clean and sanitized so the public can continue to use and enjoy those spaces. Make sure your custodian(s) know how appreciated they are with a gift of their choice.

6. Boss’s Day: October 16, 2022

Are you appreciative of your boss? Whether it’s because of the amount of time they’ve spent helping you develop your skill set or the opportunities they’ve given you for advancement, don’t miss your chance to say thank you this Boss’s Day.

Pro tip: Since Boss’s Day falls on a Sunday, schedule a gift delivery the week before so you don’t forget!

7. National First Responders Day: October 28, 2022

First responders have one of the toughest and riskiest jobs out there. Whether responding to a natural disaster, tragedy, or accident, they rush to a scene to help people who can be in life threatening situations. Use this day to personally celebrate them, their careers, and all of the people they’ve helped.

8. Halloween: October 31, 2022

Deliver a treat to anyone you want to engage with this fall. Whether you want to show appreciation for your customers or employees, or want to stand out to your prospects, tapping into a popular holiday could be just the trick you need to propel your relationship forward.

Pro tip: Customize your gift sends with a Halloween pun that’s still on brand.

Are you ready to celebrate one of these occasions? Send or schedule a gift within minutes!
